Just came back from cardiac rehab this morning it's been a month since my experience and I was taken off "HR restriction" -- and cleared for the open road... well - not really. I'm now on the perceived effort scale and will be traveling for work the next 11/2 weeks so now it's up to me... This year was not a year to be proud of. Gained about 10 pounds and at the end of the year I've only run 260 miles, walked 280 and bicycled 120. I worked more than in the past and I've found that time and energy were the big barriers to maintaining a good fitness regimen. 2012 will be a better year.

Hi to other members. I have just joined today. I had a pacemaker inserted 4 weeks ago for heart block and now wish to get back to regular running and hopefully back to the level I was before my heart problems. My cardiologist has set the limits of my pacemaker at 40 low and 140 high. This will be reviewed in 3 weeks when I have my first check. If anyone can give me information as to how the pacemaker actually works with these limits I would be grateful. I understand that the lower ...
This will be a big week of accomplishment for me, on Friday I am done with Cardiac Rehab. On Saturday I am going to run/walk a fun run with my daughter (a non-runner) just as a first milestone. I wanted to run the 5 mi, but my family and friends have said they flat won't let me. So the mile it is, and then setting the first goal for 2012.
