Default Diary Note: Australian closed for Tuesday

All Cardiac Athletes please note that Australia will be closed on Tuesday, for the running of the Melbourne Cup.

Government offices are unavailable during the running of the race; buses stop whilst the driver listens on his radio; stores broadcast the call over the Tannoy (=PA).

So please do not try to communicate sensibly with any of the Australian forum members on this day ...

I'll try and remember not to call you at that time - if you do the same for me on any Saturday during the football season. Columbus basically shuts down until after any game when the Buckeyes play. What is really hilarious is to be watching on TV. If the windows are open you can hear the all the neighbors wail the instant we fumble, or yell for joy with every touchdown. I've had people visit from out of town that are astounded at the number of homes that fly banners. Most of the residents wear something scarlet & grey, and all the businesses post "Go Bucks" on their windows or signage.

Too bad we can't get that much cooperation and community involvement in health related policies.

I have a feeling the Rose Bowl will be the "Bucks" and the "Ducks."
